Over the last couple of years, the American Talk show host (and Harvard-educated cardiothoracic surgeon and Columbia University Professor) ‘Dr Oz’ has talked about the effectiveness of several Grenade ingredients and promoted their use for fat loss. Most recently, he has picked up on the effectiveness of yet another Grenade ingredient – Green Coffee. Specifically, one of Dr Oz’s colleagues on the Dr Oz Show has made some very complementary statements about the effectiveness of Green Coffee for weight loss. In describing the effects of Green Coffee for fat loss, he actually stated that ‘people don’t have to do anything different when they use this food supplement…they just appear to lose pounds fast’.He made these comments in reference to a study that gave subjects Green Coffee Extract for 12-weeks, which resulted in an average weight loss of 17 pounds and a loss of 16 per cent of their body fat. He goes on to state that it is the high level of Chlorogenic Acid (as found in high concentrations in Grenade’s Green Coffee) that seems to be the active component – of course, this is something the Grenade Research Team were well aware of when they formulated Grenade but we’re happy that such a highly-qualified, high-profile health professional endorses our ingredient choices!

New PreWorkout called 'Grenade .50 Calibre 'to be Launched at FIBO

Every year, as mid-April approaches, sports supplement, exercise equipment and sports clothing companies gear up to attend the FIBO Fitness, Wellness & Health show in Essen, Germany. This huge trade show attracts over 600 exhibitors from 38 countries.

This year nearly 60,000 visitors came through the doors to learn more about what’s new and what’s hot in the Fitness and Health industry currently.

Grenade, of course, had its trademark TANK and a full team of athletes on display during the show. The crowds gathered at the tank to have their pictures taken with Team Grenade and the athletes were inundated with requests for photographs and tips on training and diet.  As with most of the shows Grenade sold out of products and clothing on the 2^nd day!

The tank and the Team never fail to steal the show and it was great to meet with so many of our  European / global distributors. Grenade are proud to exhibit at FIBO and are already looking forward to exhibiting next year when it moves to Cologne.

New research is emerging all the time about beet root’s effects on increasing blood flow and of course, the evidence on boosting NO has shown that doing so increases levels of anabolic hormones, measures of muscle growth, muscle strength and oxygen delivery to the muscle cells. In one very recent study, when British researchers gave healthy subjects several different amounts and types of beetroot, their blood pressure decreased significantly and blood flow increased.

It turns out that it is the high level of organic nitrates in beetroot that delivers this effect. Beetroot is probably the best natural source of organic nitrates, which directly fuel NO production. Most other available sources of nitrates are often man made. This is important because a recent review of the exercise benefits of nitrates has warned that certain forms of nitrates are ‘potentially hazardous’[1]. The scientists who wrote this review went on to say that they endorse using plant sources of nitrates because they seem to deliver a ‘slow, controlled release of nitrate’ within the body. Of course the Grenade research team have been paying close attention to this powerful purveyor of pumps and has included a high-nitrate version of beetroot in new Grenade .50 Calibre.

You may be wondering what raspberry ketones are. Chemically, they are phenols or carbolic acids, which are small ringed molecules but you know them better as the thing that gives raspberries their unique smell. These phenols are often volatile, which means they get into the air and give things an aroma. Back in 2005, Japanese scientists did an experiment in which they gave mice a high fat diet that has been shown to cause them to become obese. Then they added various dosages of raspberry ketones to the mice’s diets. The result was that with the highest dosage (2% of their diet as raspberry ketones), they no longer continued to get fatter so that they had lower body fat, less fat in their midsections and lower levels of fat in their livers. These results led the scientists to conclude that raspberry ketones “prevents and improves obesity and fatty liver”. Upon considering these two studies, we added this ingredient to U.S. Grenade.

 Recently, scientists writing in the journal Planta Medica did an in vitro study to confirm that raspberry ketones cause fat breakdown, fat burning and that they influence levels of a key hormone involved in the regulation of fat breakdown in an actual working fat cell. Not only did the levels of this hormone – adiponectin – increase but the delivery of fats into the cell decreased and burning of fats increased. So it looks like so far, raspberry ketones are showing all of the signs of being an effective ingredient to minimize the levels of fat in fat cells and so their recent popularity seems justified. Of course Grenade (U.S. version) contains these same raspberry ketones as part of its research-supported formula, along with other university studied fat loss support ingredients.

The Arnold Sports Festival is the largest multi-sports festival in the USA and annually hosts 18,000 athletes competing in 44 sports and events, including 12 Olympic sports. The three-day Arnold Fitness Expo located within the Greater Columbus Convention Center welcomed more than 700 exhibitors offering the latest in fitness apparel, equipment, training tools, and nutrition. Visitors gathered to see professional athletes and elite fitness celebrities who welcomed visitors to the booths.  Grenade® didn’t disappoint and not only did they have their 12 strong army of ‘Team Grenade®’ athletes, but a 20 tonne self-propelled military vehicle as their booth!

Over 175,000 visitors attended the expo and the buzz surrounding Grenade® was huge.  Grenade® not only sold out of stock within the first 4 hours of the expo but Team Grenade® athletes were inundated with requests for information about the product, signed pictures and photographs with members of the public, both from the US and overseas.  The highlight of the show was a visit from Arnold Schwarzenegger himself who commented on the unique booth and the phenomenal shape the Team Grenade® athletes were in.

This blood vessel constriction goes against what athletes and bodybuilders are trying to achieve when they train and compete. Indeed, the whole point of “NO” (nitric oxide) pre-workout products is that they increase blood flow to muscles, allowing better delivery of nutrients and disposal of exercise waste products.

 The big news today is that a few websites in the UK have been contacted by theMedicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and they were given a long list of banned products that they have been selling.

Along with certain ephedra, yohimbe, prohormone and other products that have long been banned. This seems to be the first time MHRA have overtly shown their intent to review DMAA and that they think it may have medicinal and potentially harmful effects.

 So we’ll be following this story closely but for all the Grenade users out there, you can be re-assured that Grenade doesn’t contain DMAA and only contains research-tested, safe ingredients.
